The Victoria MG Club annual roster of activities includes the following examples:
Anniversary Meet & Picnic ... the major club event of the year takes place in July and includes a show and shine (currently at Gyro Park) with presentation of awards.
Driver Training ... an annual two day event in which driving skills and techniques are developed by means of a seminar and practice (on a driving course) of the lessons learned.
Grand Tours ... the Okanagan Car Club Rally in the Valley is a very popular annual event which takes place in either Kelowna or Pentiction, during the early part of July. The Portland All British Field Meet attracts a significant group of motoring enthusiasts almost every year. Another event, the Laguna Seca trip to California, generatess considerable interest and participation.
Ice Cream Runs ... during the summer months, on the Wednesday following the monthly meeting, a run, designed by a volunteer club member, takes place with an appropriate destination (local dispenser of ice cream).
L.A.N.D. Tour ... a tour to an interesting site followed by dinner. This event is organized by Loraine Fawdry (L), Armande Morton (A), Neil Fawdry (N) and Dave Morton (D).
Oak Bay Tea Party Parade ... an annual event in which the Victoria MG Club has participated since 1995. The club participates as a 'group' entry and frequently enjoys a first place in the competition. The parade is followed by a picnic lunch at a nearby park.
Slaloms ... conducted at either the Camosun Campus parking lot or at Western Speedway. This is a timed event in which only one car is allowed on the track during a 'run'. The slaloms are followed by a barbecue at a member's home. The major slalom event of the year is the All British Slalom which takes place in June and is very popular with a the membership and invited quests.
Soupcon Run ... a tour of the countryside followed by lunch at the home of Alex and Ruth Moffoot. A tasty collection of different soups with buns, cheese and dessert make this event a taste sensation!!
Valentines' Day Run ... organized by Karen Trickett and Cam Russell, this event involves a tour over some of the more interesting roads of southern Vancouver Island, followed by 'treats' at Karen and Cam's home.
Watkins Dinner Run ... a tour of the countryside followed by dinner at a 'quality' restaurant and a 'dessert' gathering at the home of a club member. The tour and dinner is designed and orchestrated by Wayne Watkins.
